Will England's Wayne Rooney retire??

Wayne Rooney has played 114 games for England.

Today's match will make it 115.

I'm guessing England wins today and then lose to France in the Quarter Finals.

That would put Rooney on 116 appearances just like Ibrahimovic. He retired after Swedens loss to Belgium.

Rooney is only 30 years old and it would be quite a surprise but sometimes these guys retire from International soccer early and concentrate on their club career.

Should be interesting none the less...

Martin O'Neill and the 1982 World Cup...

The manager of Republic of Ireland, Martin O'Neill actually played for Northern Ireland and back in the 1982 World Cup was also the captain.
The World Cup that year was played in Spain.

It's a little ironic that now the ROI happen to be drawn against France, (the hosts) at the last 16 stage because back in '82, Northern Ireland were drawn against Spain (The '82 WC hosts) at the last 16 stage also.

Martin O'Neill's team went on to win that game (1-0), with a Gerry Armstrong goal, despite being down to 10-men for 30 minutes,  in a famous night in N. Ireland's sports history.

The date of the Spain match was June 25th 1982, almost 34 years to the day, of the Ireland/France game this Sunday, (34 years and 1 day to be exact).

Is O'Neill gonna spoil another host nation's party?
My answer would be YES!

France was the team that knocked out Northern Ireland that year, by a score of 4-1, on July 4th 1982, (date written over in Europe, 4/7), like 47. France =47.

Get your popcorn ready!!

ROI through to the last 16!! Now the fun starts...

I never said it was going to be easy but they did it...
The Republic of Ireland are through to the last 16 of Euro '16!
They will play France on Sunday.
I originally thought this would be the final but that's okay.

Again, this match should be revenge for Ireland for the Thierry Henry handball from 2009.

Thanks everyone for your contributions. Some very smart people out there.

Back to school tomorrow...lol

COYBIG!!

G'wan Ireland!!!!

Is tomorrow gonna be Zlatan Ibrahimovic's last match for Sweden??

Swedish striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced today that his final match for Sweden, would be Sweden's last match in Euro '16, thus ruling himself out for the Olympics.

That is very interesting...
Zlatan has 115 appearances for Sweden. Tomorrow would make it the significant 116 (911 upside down).
I'm gonna guess here and say that Sweden get eliminated tomorrow.

Republic of Ireland need a win against Italy.
(A Robbie Keane goal tomorrow maybe??)

.
A win for ROI would get them a last 16 matchup with Croatia.

Four years ago, Croatia defeated ROI in Euro '12. Revenge???
A bit early for that kinda talk... I know...

Tomorrow's date is 6/22.

Missing Irish fan found safe - just like Broncos fan in 2014.

Thanks to Maggie for drawing my attention to this...

Lee McLaughlin, the Irish fan who supposedly went missing in Paris at the Euro '16 was found safe and sound.
Lee McLaughlin=122, like San Francisco.

In October 2014, Denver Broncos fan Paul Ketterman went missing after a game against the Chargers.

Denver went on to win the Superbowl in 2015/16 season in SAN FRANCISCO!!

Lee was from Inishowen, in Donegal (Inishowen =116), (Donegal =58).

In the headline above, it says they used 'Ping' mobile tracing technology.
Ping =116 in Jewish Gematria like Inishowen=116 where Lee was from!

Hang tight people, I believe ROI are still in this.

Check this out, 3 days to go 3...

Thanks to Sev for sending me this...

The UEFA EURO 2016 twitter page had this tweet today...

"3 DAYS TO GO! 3"....

Looks like a 33 in there.
Republic of Ireland are ranked 33 in the world.
They were 31 last week!
Hmmmmm...
